Colour Palette?

I always like a bit of pinterest inspiration when it comes to colour’s to use on our digi stamps. For this one I just typed into the search ‘Christmas Colour Palette’ had a browser & this was the one that caught my eye – it possibly has something to do with the marshmellows & the mug

Let’s Start Shading; step by step guide

Step 1: I start off with a flat layer of colour – if your using promakers this would be ‘Tan’.
TIP; to get a nice even flat colour – shade the gingerbread man in one direction with the promarker – then go over him again in the opposite direction
Step 2: With ‘Cinnamon’ promarker your not going to shade in the traditional way – i.e making sure you know which direction the lights coming from – your just going to shade around the edge of the gingerbread man like I have above. Don’t worry if it looks a little messy right now.
Step 3: Now go around the edge with ‘cocoa’ promarker. This will make the edges of the gingerbread man look like they’ve caught a little while baking in the oven.
Step 4: Now to blend in all the shading go back over the gingerbread man with ‘Tan’ – the first colour used.
Step 5: Time to grab the coloured pencils & start shading – I’ve used a mustard colour, red/brown & dark brown – in simple circular motions – start shading over the promarker shading. I’ve gone for a look where the gingerbread man has slightly burnt around the edge & then browning has got lighter toward the middle.
Step 6: To finish off our lovely gingerbread man – I’ve used Ruby & Turquoise for his scarf. To put a little shading into the icing I’ve used Cool Grey 1.
